This classic image of one of the brave surfmen of the United States Lifesaving Service is something to marvel at. These surfmen would walk up to two miles in each direction from their station, scanning the seas for distressed ships navigating the storms of the Graveyard of the Atlantic. The lighting of a handheld Coston Signal alerted the crew at the station to ready the boats and prepare for the rescue mission ahead. This piece captures the drama of the sea and the heroism of those lifesaving crews. Bring this piece in your home or office for a piece of history that will be sure to impress.
